concerto cadenza’s story

our story
Concerto Cadenza was born from a shared journey of listening, performing, and reflecting deeply on what gives classical piano music its lasting meaning. Over time, we became increasingly aware of a growing distance between the score and its interpretation, where emerging artistic freedom too often overshadowed the importance of the composer’s written intentions and the traditions that have shaped this repertoire for generations. This concern was not rooted in resistance to individuality, but in a desire to uphold clarity, integrity, and respect for the musical text.
As performers and listeners, we came to understand that the piano tradition is not only a matter of technique, but of responsibility — to history, to the composer, and to the music itself. In this process, we also recognised the urgency of time: that life is short, and our focus should be directed toward the works and interpretations that carry the greatest artistic and cultural significance.
From this reflection, Concerto Cadenza emerged with a clear purpose: to promote the highest standards of piano playing, to support faithful and thoughtful interpretations, and to preserve the legacy of the great repertoire while also encouraging meaningful new contributions. Through concerts, education, and publishing, we seek to uphold what we believe matters most — music that endures, speaks truthfully, and continues to inspire beyond its time.
